I'm in desperate need of help if anyone has any suggestions or have heard about this before in any way please comment. I have A 1 year-old ruddy abbysian girl. Anakin Marie Skywalker, is her human given name. I'm going to tell you the entire story so that you as a whole understand exactly what has led to where we are today. I bought her from a local breeder, very reputable breeder. Seems that she was very well cared for not overbread taken care of until 12 weeks of age is when I brought her home. The first week I had her there was a little bit of blood in her stool, took her to the vet and they said that that can happen from nerves or when kittens are little they strain or stress to poop. Nothing else came of that Just wrote it up to a stress induced kitty occurrence. She has been active and happy up until about 6 weeks ago... She had been getting a little bit tired or when I thought was just more subdue but I thought that was because she was turning a year old. I talked it up to her not being a kitten anymore. Around this time also I had adopted / fostered a 2-year-old short-haired cat that was neutered. That cat and her did not get along. He seemed to be aggressive towards her, She did not like him either, she would growl and he said him when he was around... We ended up separating them and he was put up for adoption. 1 week ago she went potty and there was blood in her stool. I immediately took her to the vet and they said it was colitis. I changed her food wet and dry to a sensitive tummy brand. She did not like this food at all, she tried to eat it but then it trickled out and she would not eat it at all. That was going on for about two days maybe three days. I then decided to give her some regular food the one she liked before, and she ate a little bit of that, and then vomited it all up. She would drink water and vomit the water up. That lasted about a day. She is very lethargic sleeps constantly doesn't seem to have the energy to get up. She likes to sleep on top of heat, radiators. When I took her to the vet the only thing they could absolutely tell me is that her red count and white count was low. 16 was her red count and they were very concerned. They gave her fluids this morning. 100 ml and then they ran a feline leukemia test. That came back negative, all her lab works for fine except for the CBC. Tonight she ate a little bit of a stick pureed food thingy. And drank a little bit of water. She kept that down. Right now she's sleeping on top of a radiator and doesn't seem to want to move from there. It seems like she's so tired she can barely open her eyes 80% of the time. The vet thinks it's a viral thing. If there's any suggestion of any kind of virus that you've seen in Abby's or any kind of cats please comment and help me find some leads that I can figure this out. I can't lose this little girl.
Chewy lost his sister Clarice back in November (fuck cancer). They were bonded as kittens (we adopted at 7 mos), but less close as adults. Still, active chase & wrestling most days. He's 11½, but still good for zoomies anytime. I think he'd do well with a new pal.
We live in a 2-story townhouse, and he and new kitty will be indoors only. We've both had cats for decades.
Chewy is very human-friendly, even put up with a toddler once, and spent his kittenhood around dogs. Last dog meeting (last year) was a sniff-a-thon, with him looking offended but not running away (he could have). He hasn't met a new cat since we adopted him.
What age/sex/activity level might work here? I'm thinking kitten/young and husband leans toward a girl, but he's OK with anything. Pretty sure Chewy's not dominant; sister hogged the toys and dictated play intensity level, and he let her do it.
